Dogs for Guarding and Family Protection
Dogs, in general, are faithful, affectionate and intelligent, however, they can also be trained to watch and warn their owners in situations of threat, in addition to attacking and repressing intruders.
Although the training applied to dogs that must serve as guard conditions them to behaviors that are more protective and defenders than friendly and affectionate, a good part of the animal's attitude will depend on the type of creation, training method and its corresponding socialization. With this done correctly, any guard dog can be affectionate with its owners and their family.

Guard dogs must receive specific and specialized training to perform these functions. In addition, they must have the following characteristics:
• Act with obedience with the owner (they must be trained from an early age);
• Strong barking (important to scare and frighten potential intruders);
• Ability to react to aggression or real threats quickly and efficiently;
• Ability to intimidate (physiognomy, posture, bark, physical bearing and facial expression);
• Physical strength, agility and endurance;
• Intelligence to know how to act on different types of threats;
• Good work/learning capacity;
• Ability to be always alert;
• Associated with various children's activities (i.e. swimming pool, ball games, socializing with babies, etc.);
• Good hearing;
